JUNIOR-AM TOURNAMENT
Tijeras Creek Golf Club Rancho Santa Margarita, California
The American Junior Golf Association is pleased to invite you to participate in our Junior-Am Tournament. The event allows you to play a competitive round of golf with one of the future stars of the game. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Charles Howell III, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel are a few of the hundreds of pros who played in AJGA Junior-Ams when they were teenagers. Junior-Am proceeds benefit the AJGA Foundation and local grassroots junior golf programs. In 2007, these fundraisers generated nearly $500,000.

New venue will host second annual event July 14-17
The American Junior Golf Association will bring the CORE Realty Holdings Junior presented by TomatoBank to Tijeras Creek Golf Club for the first time in 2008. This year’s tournament will bring together 78 12-18-year-old boy and girl junior golfers from around the country to compete in the 54-hole event July 14-17.
Previously, the AJGA staged the CORE Realty Holdings Junior presented by TomatoBank at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif.
In 2007, Michael Jae Woo Im of Fullerton, Calif., earned his first AJGA victory at the CORE Realty Holdings Junior presented by TomatoBank after shooting a 70-69-74–213. In the Girls Division, Piper Miller of Laguna Beach, Calif., carded a 73-71-73–217 to come home with her first AJGA victory.
Tijeras Creek Golf Club will prove to be a challenging venue for the competitors. The Ted Robinson-designed course is located in Rancho Santa Margarita, in Southern Orange County. The course features two distinct nines with a demanding front nine that is highlighted with numerous water features and a dramatic back nine that offers stunning elevation changes in a picturesque setting.
Tournament practice rounds will take place Monday, July 14. The first round will begin off the first and 10th tees at Tijeras Creek Golf Club from 7-8:48 a.m. Tuesday, July 15. The final round will take place Thursday, July 17, with an awards ceremony immediately following play. Spectators are welcome to attend. Admission is free of charge.
The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA, the largest Association of its kind, has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 49 states and 30 foreign countries.

In 2007, after 12 years of support, Polo Ralph Lauren became the AJGA’s second Premier Partner.

AJGA alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Davis Love III, Cristie Kerr, Pat Hurst, Paula Creamer, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel and Julieta Granada.
Located in Rancho Santa Margarita, just minutes from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, The Ted Robinson-designed Tijeras Creek Golf Club is the tale of two nines. The distinctive course layout at Tijeras Creek opens with a demanding front nine that is highlighted with shimmering water features that come into play in four out of the first nine holes. The back nine holes are legendary for the breathtaking scenery, and awe-inspiring elevation changes that wind through old growth sycamores, oaks and native chaparral. In fact, hole number sixteen was voted one of Orange County's Best 18 Holes. A popular venue for many prestigious outings and events Tijeras Creek has played host to the Women’s Pac-10 Championships, along with the Men’s and Women’s Big West Championships.
